Try drinking more water on a daily basis. Water is not only
essential to your overall health, especially as lupus is well known for
attacking the kidneys and it works wonders for your mind too. It cleans out the
toxins in your body and can also help clear your mind to help you stay awake.
Staying hydrated is essential to a better body and mind.

mistakes. Most people try covering them up by telling themselves and others
that it was the only solution possible at the time. Be honest with
yourself: recognize and accept your
failures and mistakes so that you do not keep on repeating them. When you are
dealing with lupus symptoms in women it is really important that you learn from

remember, if your family is happy with how life is at home, you are still
worrying about it, you are most likely setting your standards too high. Lower
them a bit and enjoy your results. Its hard to be perfect when you are living
with lupus symptoms in women.

difference in how you feel about your life. It takes a lot of work, a lot of

better person. You will get more out of life and your lupus symptoms in women
will improve at the same time.
Nothing Went Right !!
Do You Feel as If the World Is Against You?
A few months ago I had one of the worst weeks ever, nothing
seemed to want to go right. I felt really ill and I still needed to keep my
busy family going.
I have suffered with Lupus for many years, but this time it
felt worse than usual and I began to wonder if I was going to get through this
Lupus Flare in one piece.
I decided that I needed help in organising myself and to
keep a record of the symptoms I was actually dealing with. So I searched the
Internet for a medical diary as I felt this would be more appropriate than just
a bulk standard diary. I wanted to put it on my computer as I used my computer
an awful lot and I felt it was most practable.
That week was terrible, I missed a friends coffee afternoon
to help raise funds for cancer research; partly because I forgot about it and
also because I fell asleep when I had sat down for a break earlier in the day.
One day I missed a painkiller that then sent the rest of my
painkillers adrift so I spent the night in pain. This proceeded to make me feel
very unwell and depressed.
The following day I found that I had forgotten to send my
repeat prescription to the doctors and it didn’t help matters that I was almost
out of a couple of my tablets. I then spent a fretful morning on the phone to
the doctors trying to get a prescription quickly.
My appointment with my Rheumatologist at the end of the week
didn’t go very well at all. I had forgotten to write down the symptoms that I
was struggling with most of all and as I got back into the car the things I had
wanted to discuss all came rushing back.
Collecting my children from various activities became a
nightmare on a couple of occasions I forgot where I was going and I ended up at
a place I needed to be later on. I was beginning to find life was really
overwhelming me.
I needed a medical diary that could help me with reminding
me to take my medication correctly, one that would remind me when to collect my
repeat prescription, be able to make a note of all my symptoms as and when they
had happened and to be also able to note how I felt and what I had eaten
that day.
Then I also needed to be able to set reminders for family
occasions such as birthdays and activities.
I found the Smart Medical Diary. After reading the report
I decided to buy it straight away. Setting up was fairly easy and I also found
that I had also got a couple of extra bits that made it even better. They had
an online community for people with chronic illnesses such as Lupus so that I
could chat with people who are suffering with similar things to me. I also
found that the information I put into the medical diary would then be plotted
onto graphs so that I could compare my symptoms with my food intake and
activities.
Life began to improve, my lupus improved and I didn’t feel so stressed about life
and as my medical diary was alerting me to take medications etc. I began to
feel much more relaxed, I was less forgetful in general and I didn’t end up in
the wrong place.
My next Doctors appointment went very well as I had printed
off all the things I wanted to tell him from my Smart Medical Diary.
Lupus – Stress – Depression- Anxiety
Lupus sufferers quite often suffer from Depression, Stress
and Anxiety. This can have a knock on effect on their quality of life. It is
also not surprising that lupus sufferers suffer with these problems, as living
with lupus is very unpredictable and challenging.
Stress and anxiety can trigger a lupus flare, or if the
Lupus is already active it keeps it active. Keeping away from stressful
situations is not always possible and so it is important that they learn
techniques to help them reduce the amount of stress they are dealing with.
Meditation, gentle exercise and relaxation techniques can be very helpful.
A lupus suffer may suffer from anxiety because they fear
their symptoms and feel that their lupus specialists are not taking them
seriously. Especially if they are being told that the symptoms are all in their
mind.
Depression is common with lupus sufferers due to the fact
that they are constantly in pain, dealing with constant fatigue, feeling ill
all the time and upset that their symptoms are not being acknowledge by the
medical profession. Depression is really difficult to treat and at times may
need the help of a counsellor and maybe an anti-depressant.
Co Enzyme Q10 and Lupus
Lupus sufferers who have high cholesterol and have tried several types of statins and
found that they all make the muscles ache even more an alternative can be used.
It is important for Lupus Sufferers to have a low cholesterol reading as the
sufferer with Lupus could be 20% more likely to suffer from heart disease than
a normal healthy person.
Taking Co Enzyme Q10 alongside the statin helps to reduce muscle aches.
Co Enzyme Q10 is naturally made in our bodies, it plays a critical role in the
production of energy in every cell in the body. It aids circulation, stimulates
the immune system, increases oxygenation, and has a vital anti-aging effect.
Taking statins for high cholesterol sometimes blocks the body’s ability to make Co
Enzyme Q10. Taking a Co Enzyme Q10 naturally two weeks before taking statins
and then carrying on along side the drug. I t will help reduce the muscles aches.

There are some diseases that are more common in black women than in white women, and lupus just happens to be one of them.
Some of the main health conditions that will affect black women’s health other than Lupus include breast cancer, hypertension, diabetes and stroke among others.
