Kids with Tracheostomy May Be Dealing with the Need of Relief for Constipation
If you have a child who has a tracheostomy, you may be frustrated by all the extra struggles your child has to go through that other children don’t have to deal with. Some of these struggles may be directly correlated to their tracheostomy. One of these is constipation. It has been found that in kids with tracheostomy, 80% have an ongoing problem dealing with the need of relief for constipation. While scientists who did the research can’t find the exact cause, they do know this is a much bigger problem for these children than normal children.
So as a parent, what can you do? You want to cure any of your child’s pains, including those that come from constipation. First it may be time to talk to your doctor about a colon cleanse for your child.
