3 Rapid Weight Loss Approaches
Losing weight fast is one of the most common self-improvements you might want to make. You could be aiming to lose just a few – say 5 or 10 pounds just to help you fit into your clothes better or look toned and fit or you could be planning to lose much more. No matter the reason, you are likely to be looking for a safe, effective way to experience rapid weight loss.
But first steps first! Before beginning any type of diet or exercise program that promotes rapid weight loss, it’s important that you consult your doctor if you have or are likely to have any medical conditions or complications from the weight loss. Once you get medical clearance, there are several ways to lose weight fast.
One of the most common is through a rigorous diet and exercise program. Most of these programs are designed to reduce your intake of fat and calories while getting you to become more active. You probably know though, it takes a lot of willpower to stick to a strict regimen like this, but the rapid weight loss that usually follows is a nice reward.
Some people are always looking for short cuts – they don’t want to go through the structure of a typical weight loss diet and exercise program.
Instead, they might choose to try a rapid weight loss fad such as cleansing or fasting. Don’t do it! Most nutrition experts actively recommend against these methods. I know there are some success stories out there with these techniques, but they do not help you solve the eating problem in the long run.
Maybe you have been unsuccessful over they years in using all the other ways to lose those pounds? Then you might want to consider gastric bypass surgery or lap bands.
This medical procedure is for people whose weight is very high and is causing serious health problems. You may choose this surgery option to achieve rapid weight loss in order to help your body to heal when all else fails.
The surgery is a last resort because surgery is never without risk. Also, it is expensive, if it is not covered by your health insurance, and recovery from the surgery process is painful for most people.
In most cases, you are best to aim for a diet program that helps you lose weight AND teaches you the lifestyle changes you need to make to keep it off. That’s something we all want to achieve!
